Last weekend, I spent a comfortable overnight stay, not in my apartment, but in a hotel in a city that is about one and a half hour road travel to the south of Metro Manila.
DAJ Suites Boutique Hotel in Tagaytay City, Cavite hosted our night with quietness, hospitality, and gracious service. This place is approximately fifteen-minute drive from the city proper and accessible to all modes of conveyance that ply the major highway.
We were up until two o’clock in the morning and we had the feeling of having the place all to ourselves. The reception was open 24 hours without a guard, but we felt safe and secure. Our paranoia was left in Manila. We had our “Cups and Chats” type of fellowship at the lobby where we talked mostly about life. The receptionist was very accommodating in helping us take photographs of ourselves. We had laughters at crazy groupies we shot in front of the mirrors and everyone had a great time.
The place had a feel of a home to me; that same feeling I had when I was far, far away from home three years ago. (Read more about feeling at home All Seasons here.)
I let my friends do the reservations and I was glad that they picked a good choice. The room smelt so fresh; it was also clean and well-lighted.
They have superior, deluxe, and family rooms. Ours was the latter that was I think still spacious for up to eight occupants. It has one queen-sized bed and two single-sized beds, plus the following: 32 inch LED TV with cable channels, air conditioning unit, personal ref, dining table, wardrobe cabinet, and sofa in a separate receiving area (sala) within the same room.
The shower rooms with hot/cold waters and toilets were complete with necessary supplies. Although we had a complaint with the flush not working properly, it was fixed immediately when we brought this to their attention.
Our overnight stay came with an inclusive breakfast. The dining area was capacious and we loved to watch the morning broke to a new day, while the sunlight streamed through the transparent glass walls. The tables and chairs were made of wood and they looked indigenous and original.
Food and Coffee
Our breakfast meal was delicious to my palate and the serving size was satisfactory.
We also enjoyed an unlimited, free-flowing, brewed Amadeo coffee, which is one of the specialties of Cavite.
My favorite area was the indoor swimming pool, although I have not “jumped and lost myself” in here due to the scrotum-tightening temperature of the water. There was an adverse meteorological condition at that time that accounted for the cold weather. I just wished that the pool is wider and deeper than five feet.
Aside from the weak WIFI connection inside our room, I have no other things to say against Daj Suites Boutique Hotel. My overall customer experience was good and I would recommend checking in this place if you are planning to tour around Tagaytay City and nearby towns of Batangas.
